- Import Liege - Belgien

Import Liege / Belgien

Export to Liege (Belgium)

Attention!

Before you can fetch your horse at Liege airport the following has to be noticed:

Ø      3 - 5 days before import of the pony Liege needs the following information to issue T1 (documents of transport)

o        sign of horse carriage

o        custom office where the dues for the horse will be paid (please notice information “custom for my horse”)

o        your telephone number (mobile if possible)

Ø      at the day of arrival you have to have your passport ready

Ø      all costs in Liege have to be paid cash or by cheque (you will be informed in advance of the approx. amount)

Normally the flight arrives the night Friday/Saturday at 2:00 hrs. The horses will be accommodated at the “Flying Farm” and looked after with hay and water.

Here you find all details about times of departure and arrival: www.icelandaircargo.com

Ø      Saturday morning at 6:00 hrs the veterinary starts to check the horses and the documents and at about 9:00 hrs you can come and get your horse.
The airport in Liege will inform you about the exact times by telephone or sms.

To get document T1

Ø      You need the document T1 for the legal transport from Belgium to Germany. You then take document T1 to pay custom dues and tax at your local custom office - this has to be done within five days after the import of your pony (date of import is stated on document T1)

you have to inform the airport at Liege (“Flying Farm”) in advance by fax that your are going to pay custom dues in Germany and you have to give them the custom office where you are going to do this. This has to be done in written form.

Ø      Please note!
As most of the custom offices are not used to do the formalities for a horse import it is wise to contact your custom office in advance to give notice of the import of the horse so that they are able to get the information they need. That will cut down your standby time. Nevertheless your custom office has to declare whether they want to see the horse and then whether you have to take it to the custom office or if someone is coming over to have a look or (that’s most likely) they renounce it. This procedure varies from office to office - please check this in advance.

Please contact the “Flying Farm” at Liege 3 - 5 days before the day of import to make sure you’ve got everything and that Liege has got all information they need. If you want detailed information about the person in charge and the corresponding telephone number please contact us.
